Envision Clear Sailing

Not too long ago one of my young leaders group met with a mentor of mine. The mentor asked the individuals where they imagined their careers would take them.

One of the young leaders immediately answered, “I want to be the company’s CEO.”

The mentor hesitated for a moment. “I’m not sure if the path you have taken thus far can get you there,” he said. “You don’t have the education, credentials and would need corporate experience. Perhaps…”

I stopped my mentor.

I knew his response to the young leader was real, heartfelt, even protective of her feelings. But I had to jump in. “Whatever she envisions she will achieve,” I said.

Never underestimate the power of positive thinking on your goals, as well as those of others.

Set sail, and envision clear waters as you forge ahead!
