The Sea Captain Coaching team is proud to announce that our Founder Phil Bender has successfully completed the ACT Leadership and Performance Coaching Certification Program through Brown University School of Professional Studies and ACT Leadership. The mission of the program is to develop reflective leaders who will effect change in the world to improve human welfare.
Executive education at Brown University combines intensive study with personalized leadership development and prepares leaders to meet today’s most pressing challenges. The ACT Leadership and Performance Coaching Program qualifies those who earn the certification to better understand the impact they are making through their leadership as coaches and how to provide guidance that ultimately drives transformation for clients.
“It is very important to me to have full coaching certification from a highly respected institution like Brown University,” Bender said. “My coaching instincts were good; however, I wanted to ensure I had the proper technique. I am honored and humbled to have earned this highly respected certification. I am grateful to the Brown School of Professional Studies for providing this opportunity.”
One of the primary goals of the Leadership + Performance Coaching Certificate Program is to help navigate leaders through complex change initiatives. Students learn about themselves as leaders, what motivates them and what beliefs they operate from and how these considerations impact their performance and effectiveness. After tackling real-time work challenges in a rigorous course of study, students gain the skills necessary to apply new knowledge and expertise to generate tangible results for their organizations.
Congratulations to Phil on this outstanding achievement!
